Kontiolahti Funny Club was founded 7th February 2001 in Pokljuka, Slovenia during Biathlon World Championship event. The club is not registered. Funny Club's membership is invitational and the number of members is limited to one hundred. The list of members is updated yearly and new members are invited to the club according to the number of available member numbers. In 2005, altogether nine new members were invited. Currently, there are members from thirteen countries: Finland, Sweden, Norway, Austria, Germany, Switzerland, Slovenia, Belarus, Russia, Italy, Netherlands, Canada and USA.

The aim of Kontiolahti Funny Club is to make Kontiolahti Biathlon famous around the world, as well as have fun with biathlon friends from all over the world. We intend to meet our members in Biathlon World Championships or in a World Cup event every year. Whenever there is an international biathlon event in Kontiolahti, Funny Club arranges a meeting to the members who are present. In March 2005 during the Youth and Junior World Championship, Funny Club members and member candidates had the opportunity to try ice swimming with sauna in Lake Höytiäinen.

Funny Club's letter to the members is sent twice a year. Kontiolahti Sports Club supports Kontiolahti Funny Club.
